Engineering broadly protective bispecific antibodies against Chikungunya virus and Mayaro virus and in addition to evaluating the role of Fc effector function of these antibodies in these infections.
RESEARCH MASTERS THESIS - Studied the early stages of Von Hippel–Lindau (VHL) cancer cell adhesion to extracellular matrix proteins in vitro. - Examined cellular adhesion to various extracellular matrix proteins such as laminin, collagen I, collagen IV, and fibronectin. - Observed that expression of VHL caused the cells to assume a rounded, differentiated phenotype in the early stages of spreading while the absence of VHL allowed the cells to spread with a fibroblastic, spindly phenotype. - Determined that the VHL expression had no effect on cellular adhesion to the various extracellular matrix proteins in vitro. - Determined that expression of VHL in the presence of a protein kinase C inhibitor had no noticeable effect on cell spreading suggesting that, regulation of PKC by VHL may not play a role in cell spreading.
