Keywords: Protein chemistry, antibody engineering, antibody isolation, vaccine design, immunotherapy, virology
I was trained as a peptide and protein chemist, and my PhD and post-doctoral studies focused on basic elements of peptide/protein folding, function, recognition, and enzymology. Since coming to Einstein, our group has been interested in application of basic peptide and protein engineering principles to development of new biomedical tools, therapies, and vaccines. We have had a specific and long-standing interest in the area of viral immunotherapy and vaccine design. We utilize a broad array of techniques including phage and mammalian cell display, structure-based protein engineering, single B cell sorting, bispecific antibody engineering, nanoparticle design.
